In an era of fractured supply chains, rising techno- nationalism, and volatile trade regimes, relying on imported climate tech is a strategic vulnerability India can’t afford. As countries weaponize critical minerals, hoard clean technologies, and tighten export controls, climate solutions are becoming as geopolitically sensitive as oil once was. For India, the answer is clear: build at home, at scale, and with speed. “Make in India” is not just about economic self-reliance, but it’s about securing the foundations of a low-carbon future in a world where access is power and resilience is survival.
The Bharat Climate Forum (BCF) was established in 2025 as India’s national platform to align climate ambition with economic priorities and connect vision with delivery. Co-anchored by the Council for International Economic Understanding (CIEU) and Dalberg Advisors, the Forum convenes government, industry, financiers, and technical experts to shape a coherent pathway for “Make in India” climate solutions. As a trusted national platform, it engages with policymakers, academia, industry, and civil society to foster strategic dialogue and translate deliberations into collective climate and economic outcomes
The BCF 2026 will continue to promote thought leadership and foster collaborative efforts in climate action and solutions led by India, with global impact. The BCF 2026 will establish clear strategies to translate ambition into measurable results, focusing on the dual goals of accelerating cleantech manufacturing for Viksit and Net Zero harat, and highlighting ‘Make in India’ climate solutions as a key driver of national economic growth.
